My name is Shera, I am birth doula and childbirth educator in Snohomish, WA. I am passionate about helping parents-to-be and new families navigate their pregnancies, births, and postpartum period with confidence, education, and joy, and I want to help you have a birth experience that you can feel amazing about!
My journey began 27 years ago when I was pregnant with my first son and taking a childbirth education course where the instructor was a doula. I had never heard of a doula before that and was intrigued. Over the years, I have been blessed to be part of many women’s lives and birth/postpartum experiences and it just added to my love and passion for this stage of life. So, as I began to consider what I’d like to do as the last of my boys branched out into the world, I drew from that passion and curiosity for supporting women as they became mothers, and took that down the path of certification as a birth doula and childbirth educator.
I specialize in offering custom services to families depending on their needs. I am also passionate about educating women to support other women through birth and offer educational classes to this end as well. Some examples of custom support include multiples (I am the mom of multiples so I have a unique perspective and knowledge), faith based (services that are specifically constructed to view birth from a uniquely Christian perspective) or secular, and so much more.
When I’m not talking about childbirth education or coaching my clients through contractions, you can find me hanging out with my husband of 30 years, or our 6 sons, some of whom have started their own families as well. You may also find me wandering about our 4 acres with my pug, or curled up on the couch with cocoa and a good book.
